2013: Everything you ever wanted to know about Pinnacle Studio 17 and that we know on our side.!! The trial / demo version of Pinnacle Studio 17 is not yet available but announced rather soon!! We will inform you asap (subscribe to our ) ESSENTIAL LINKS: Download:. Latest patch 17.6.0: (warning, when upgrading to 17.0.2.137 and upper version, there is no longer sharing of the library and the plugins directory with PS16. It means that you need to manually copy folders and files under RTFx and RTFx2 from Studio 16 to Studio 17 if you upgrade from S16 to S17. This way, you find all your effects/plugins back. You have certainly worked on performance - there are already performance benchmarks?
Answer from Jacques Lamontagne: Performance is currently playing an important role in video, especially when working with resource-intensive AVC source files. Therefore, we have added in the current version smart encoding for source files to AVC format. As soon as users can now export in the same format, the speed is greatly increased. Smart Encoding speeds up the playback by only the parts of a video re-encoded, which has changed the user (eg, titles, effects and transitions). Because of this subtle optimization, customers can now save a lot of time when working with AVC files. Pinnacle Studio has a lot of followers, however, the market for Pinnacle Studio editing software have not developed in positive trend. What do you want to do now, to reverse this trend again.
Answer from Jacques Lamontagne: Germany is still the most important market for our Pinnacle Studio product line. In our opinion, Pinnacle is so successful, especially in Germany, because we have the software tailored to the needs of German clients. German users place a high value on precision, multiple control options and performance - just like us.
Let us know in the area of consumer video very well and are of the opinion that Pinnacle Studio 17 is the most technologically advanced and best equipped functional video editing software in the consumer market. We also know that German users especially appreciate the impressive functionality of the program. Therefore, the Avid Studio interface was just as well received by German customers. These benefits we plan to expand further in coming versions. Pinnacle Studio has been partly developed in Munich and to another part of the United States. The Munich team, previously responsible for the source code of the program, was, if we are correctly informed, released just over a half a year. Is that a reason for the late appearance of Pinnacle Studio?
Answer from Jacques Lamontagne: it's always difficult when a company is losing good employees, and we found it not easy to have to close our Pinnacle office in Germany. The successful development of our Pinnacle Studio app for the iPad and the idea of Pinnacle Studio 17 show hopefully our commitment. We believe in the consumer video area and are committed towards Pinnacle Studio. Is the Pinnacle development team has been increased in the U.S., so that the user can rely on a further 'their' editing software? Answer from Jacques Lamontagne: Pinnacle Studio is further developed by an international team, as before the acquisition. Our customers can therefore rest assured that we work with full dedication in supporting their favorite editing software and develop. The use of synergies with other development teams, for example, developers of Corel VideoStudio, ultimately contribute to it. It is certainly not easy to continue the development of a program, when a whole team at once is no longer there.
But Corel has experience with the acquisition of software company - how to ensure there because the know-how transfer? Answer from Jacques Lamontagne: Yes, we know that with acquisitions, in fact it looks globally good. The cooperation and know-how transfer, as you put it across borders are part of our everyday life. And as already mentioned works an experienced, international team that has already helped develop Pinnacle Studio 16 on the development of the program. With the purchased of Avid Pinnacle Studio and formerly developed by Corel Ulead Video Studio currently offers two video editing programs. Power as a dual strategy of dual development effort in the long term sense, and if so, why? Answer from Jacques Lamontagne: Videos are always popular.
Whether in the private, business or education area. With Pinnacle Studio and Corel Video Studio offers two leading video editing programs. We also want to continue and make a large audience for any claims available to our video software.
So VideoStudio is extremely easy to use and therefore is rather aimed at a wider audience, such as in the area Actioncams - Rollei bundles as its new generation of Actioncams with VideoStudio. Especially young people want without much effort quickly edit video and share on YouTube or Facebook. Pinnacle Studio, however, is a more extensive and more powerful software and is rather aimed at video enthusiasts who almost professional claims.
Moreover, the two products have different positions in different markets. Pinnacle is a leader in Germany, Video Studio in Japan. Not least, our customers benefit from synergies.
Various features, such as live screen capture, are already included in VideoStudio. For all these reasons, it makes perfect sense for us, therefore, to continue the two products and brands independently. Jacques Lamontagne is the the Director, Marketing & Product Management for Pinnacle Studio and was available to videoaktiv for the questions. Article published on: It seems that we are close to the release date of Pinnacle Studio 17 ULTIMATE and its sub product.
I obtained information on Pinnacle Studio 17 in various public website which published some information regarding Pinnacle Studio 17. As usual, I will tell you what I know so far: all those pages are public, so here is the summary!
Note that this article will be updated on a regular basis with information we receive, if you want to be informed, for updates (it's free and guaranteed no SPAM, we do not resale or transfer your email address to third parties). Tuesday, October 29, 2013 2:00 PM Studio 8 was usable on the machine I had at the time. Studio 11 with new machine.
Now had problems with DVD creation/authoring. Never could get menus to work correctly. New Intel quad core machine and Avid Studio 1.1 Ultimate version.
Loads of new features same poor result with DVD menus, discs play but menus choices are not usable because they don't key to the appropriate chapter no matter how simple they are made. Shortly after purchase of Avid Studio, Avid sells it off to Corel, Not happy times 2. Received many offers from Corel to update to Corel Studio 16, I received my 'Last Chance, This Week Only' offer October 13, 2013. That was a SUCKER offer as no mention was made of Studio 17 near release date, no offer of a free or reduced price upgrade to Studio 17. Genius truly genius, give the marketing department a big party. Now the latest offer of October 29, 2013, to update to Studio 17.
Is this 64 bit to take advantage of multiple cores? No more money from me until Corel proves they have the menu creation and DVD authoring problems corrected AND it takes advantage of multiple core processing. Friday, November 1, 2013 3:54 PM How can anyone promote Pinnacle 17, it still has the same bugs as version 16 which I have, from what I have seen on a friends P.C.

Whom bought this product, All Corel have done is add a few buttons, add some colour to separate projects, files, and video, add smart rendering, which does not work, it has carried the same bugs from version 16 to version 17. A TOTAL RIP OFF, if you ask me. Anyone whom does any video edit work should steer clear of this product, THEN MABEY COREL WILL FIX THE BUGS the try and make a D.V.D. Be it Blu-ray and it constantly crashes. 1 - Placing a title of photo into a movie that would otherwise smart render stops the smart render. RG Particular still doesn't work in PS17 Software hangs at start up (10 - 15 minutes) Hover over navigation slider bar, drag a clip to the timeline, or basically do anything and PS17 crashes (the infamous NG Studio message Titles would add that when you highlight a menu button, the selection colour is kind of bleak and fuzzy around letters. Mp4 files crash PS17 as soon as I hit the Export tab.
GoPro Hero2 files crash when you select Export all the above BUGS were in version 16 now carried over to version17 And they want £95 for this if I treated my clients the way Corel does I would not be in Business long. This has been a rushed job I think Corel could do with some new programmers. Please DON'T promote C-P I'm now glad I bought Cyberlink Powerdirector 12 Suite now there's a program that should be promoted. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 3:36 PM Studio 17! Why bother, Studio 16 has such an abortion of an interface, any smart Studio15 user would have either returned or trashed the Avid version. It has as many bugs and crashes as the old Studio 12 days. Try and do a simple quick video without spending hours looking for everything you need, like where is the content?
What happened to titles, why is it so slow, now how do I burn a disk, OMG Studio 16 is the new champion loser of how to kill off an applications faithful. And I'm going to shell out another $100 for an upgrade to 17? Sure, just as soon as the disk is available (much easier when you need to re-install over and over again. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 2:54 AM Studio 17 with the patch or without the patch should NEVER have been realest IT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Buyer beware, this was a rush job to catch people out leading up to the pagan festival (xmas) Studio is now the worst video edit programme available the bugs are two many to report here.
I believe this is down to Corel putting pressure on the programmers. Corel could have brought out a Patch for Studio 16 and made that work the way it should, but GREED takes over these companies, and it is your monies they want. Why doesn't Declic Video do a PROPER REVIEW over a couple of weeks trying to edit with this program, they will soon find out the bugs. GoPro Hero2 files crash when you select Export, mpeg 4 crash when you try to export, when you try to install patch says it can't find Studio. Make a dvd if you can with any format and it crashes, Blu-ray forget it. This program was realist for the Buyers to beta test. It is so FRUSTRATING WHAT A BL-DY MESS THEY HAVE MADE OF what was one of the best???????????
And now the worst, and there after SALES service is non existent I could go on and on. Thursday, November 14, 2013 3:17 PM @ Tom, Looking at all your problem, I am wondering if it's not your computer or your installation which has a problem.
Look around and on forum, you will see that there are problems, for sure, but not all the one you mention here which seems to be specific to your installation. Now it's my 2 cents, maybe I am cheating and saying non sense or lying, but those who know me from years know that we always have been honnest. Try wondering why you have so many problems, and then afterwards come back to us to tell us what you think about it. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 1:09 PM I have used pinnacle since version #1, 10 + 12 sucked, but I like 11 for some stuff, like capturing footage from Mini DV or HDV, does the scene cutting right.
That is 1 thing I don't like about #14 + #15. It does not split the video clips right for editing. I mostly use 15 for everything else like the editing, titles, making disc files, ect.
Another tip for those who keep getting crash problems with pinnacle 12 (and on) What I do is make the Dvd or BD file (in pinnacle) and burn it in 'Image Burn', Its a free program you can find on the web. Every time I tried to burn A BD in pinnacle it would crash, like A lot of people on here I wish they would fix that problem, if anybody has any other questions let me know I have been using it since late 1999 or early 2000. I have used almost all the version up till #15, What sucks is A few months before I knew about Cpu video editing I spent about $5000.00 (Us) on high end video stuff to film and edit with time code, now you can do all that and more for around $100.00 Luke. Sunday, January 5, 2014 3:15 PM Been using Pinnacle since 1999 v.3. When I went to V16, I didn't like the new format that AVID had changed it to, but got used to it. I like some of the new features and smooth fading transitions.
I got V17, I like most everything about it except that it renders during editing and really bogs the editing process down to a crawl. My only temp fix is to exit and relaunch the app. It will be fast again for a couple minutes, then bogs down again til I relaunch again. Its a pain in the ass to say the least. V16 did not do this.
Pinnacle Studio 20 Free Trial
I have a dell quad core, windows 7, 8G ram. Shouldn't be doing this. If this cant be fixed, Im either going back to 16 or getting a different software editing program. Sincerely, Jacques Lamontagne. Monday, February 24, 2014 12:15 PM I have used Pinnacle since V6 - and the program usefulness has changed little. I am now running 17 Ultimate and find that the errors are still there (crashes during edit at the most in-opportune time - how do it know), rendering still takes forever (have a current render going now for 01:13:42:02 and only 75% on the export phase 25% overall) and I am on an i7/16Gb with hardware enabled and a GeForce 550 with nothing else running) and I find that the faster render times is nothing more than a marketing wish or lie. When is someone going to own up that this software is not prime time and admit there is need for repair and fix it.
Also - how about a little support for things that would would show and interest in making things work? Something other than reload or rebuild. That tells me that the program is antiquated and has no self diagnostics or recovery built in. If that is the case - then tell us the exact machine you THINK this stuff will run on. I have configured several machines over the years to run this stuff and never had anyone other than random trials from other users to go. Let's see - if I continue - I presume after about 10 G of build variations I might get one that runs this stuff decently. Also, over the years I have paid for Liquid, Avid and Pinnacle and all three are about the same - great specs - useless for NLR.
I have had better results and quicker, easier production from Linear VCR editing on physical machines and that is a VERY SAD statement - considering that NLR should be much, much easier and faster. Corel - you bought this stuff - you bought a large group of folks that are willing to pay your yearly upgrade charges - PLEASE, when will you fix things?
This is the last one I am paying for until I can see that you have made improvements. Sunday, June 8, 2014 8:58 AM I subscribe at all who write 'Miroslav Polner'.I put pinnacle 16 on two different pc's with different hardware and pinnalce 16 is run faster when you drag clips when you push the space nad want to pause the clip or when you want to play it.Pinnacle 17 is run more slow.I remain for this moment at pinnacle 16 when i want to edit it.I use pinnacle 17 when i want to finish the project and make the disc becouse have many option when you want to export.Pinnalce 16 is more faster then pinnacle 17 when edit movie.I use piinacle at the pinnacle 9 and i use all the version.

Tuesday, August 19, 2014 10:42 AM I would not touch P.S.17 until they catch up with the 21st Centaury i.e. When they bring out 64bit version were it supports todays modern mobo, P.S.
Pinnacle Studio Free Download Full Version
Is still not worth upgrading to or purchasing, been out for quiet a while and it still hangs and farts about on the timeline, look at the forum nothing but problems, need I say more. I have heard all the excuses you know like the plugins wont work if we move to 64bit a load of rubbish.
Take my advice and keep away from Pinnacle until they start treating customers with a bit if intelligence, We want 64bit Pinnacle Studio, as it is it cannot use more than 3.5gig of ram no wonder there's bottle necks, it can not even keep up with H.D. Video, and they talk about 3D whose telling porkies, It struggles with some normal video, have you ever tried putting a 1hr-30min HD video on the timeline and this is with a powerful P.C it just locks up so its time the customers started SHOUTING they want 64bit Pinnacle Studio 18?????? Then we might get some where Tom g Time the mods: got onto pinnacle instead of agreeing with them??
