Those fake GReddy valves can't be recirculated, right? If not, then the longer it takes for you to figure out how to install it, the longer your car will continue to run half-way decently. In any event, that a cheap, fake valve didn't come with the right sized adapter is par for the course. If you insist on install on the valve, you'll need an adapter made for 2G DSMs or you'll need to replace the upper IC pipe.

(I'm going to assume that a third paragraph is not needed in order for my true feelings about this pretty blue valve to come across clearly.). Those fake GReddy valves can't be recirculated, right? Click to expand. If you bought a proper kit then it would most likely come with the correct fitting kit for the car, also any of our vendors sell and make adaptors for our cars to make install a breeze! As to not many or any install videos the reason for that is there so damn easy to fit that if you cant manage that then you really need to learn before you go any further on this car! My little sister can take my bov off and re install it again so that just goes to show how easy it is! This is also a basic to bov install on our cars and I found this on our site and youtube ame=to remove / install bov (blowoff valve) - YouTube/ame.

Sorry everyone is ragging about putting a knock off on your car. I have a knock of greddy on mine the only bad thing about them is the rubber inside tears easy. When mine tore I bought a new kit to rebuild it off ebay and haven't had a problem since, it works way better then the 1g crushed I had before.

Now onto your question. On my first dsm I ran into the same problem. Solution: take your pipe out that your factory blow off valve is attached to. Go to muffler shop.

Explain to the guys there that you need a flange that bolts to your blow off valve with a small enough hole to fit into stock piping. 15 bucks later you have that.

Install and use hose clamp. If you want to vent so its louder buy an expansion plug from local auto parts store for 6.99 and install behind maf sensor with a hose clamp. My recommendation is to recirculate it back to turbo. Click to expand. Some people do it and don't have much of a negative effect, others do. This has been beaten to death for years. You'll run a little rich when shifting which CAN lead to problems later. Still the system is not designed for it so it is not recommended (I run recirculated) as that is metered air that is adjusted for but not making it back into the system.

Bov install will be a breeze once you have the flange or have an upper metal pipe to weld the flange onto. You'll laugh at how easy it is compared to some of the other things you will have to do. I respect that chinola69 thats a good way for you to handle your vehicle. Ive had good and bad experiences with name brand products. I find its easier for me cause this is my hobby to just go cheap first until it fails then try a different approach i mean ive had better luck with my knock of greddy with a good diaphragm then i did with my name brand it sounds better IMHO and one of the guys here even heard it in the area and said so.

Click to expand. What makes them crap is if they leak and therefore don't hold boost or close properly. If that is not happening than it isn't exactly crap is it? The same argument goes for exhausts. You can buy a cheap Ebay one that will get the job done or you can spend a grand on a shiny HKS exhaust. There are a lot of proven brand name products but by no means does price scale with quality. No one wants a piece of junk that doesn't work but there should be a ratio of price to performance.

Unless you want a shiny show car I guess. If it works as intended, then what is the problem?

.first do the 'dump tube' mod and save the cut off. The dump tube narrows down at the far end.

Keep this for the BOV install. The outlet flange diameter is a slip fit size for the small end of the dump tube. Trim the remaining dump tube to 2' not including the reduced portion. Now dry fit the the dump tube to the flange and insert it along with the BOV into the stock location of the UIP. Orient to make sure you have clearance to close the hood and use a paint stick to mark the aligned position. Mix up some 2 part epoxy and apply to the joint and align. When dry, hook up the dump hose.

The 1G has a smaller nipple than the 2g BOV but will seal with the clamp.again THX! To the other members for their posts #40475 - June 26, 2005 10:42 pm EDT Re: 1G BOV install on 2G pruned Registered: March 03, 2005 Posts: 407 Loc: Hamilton.
